Shuffleboard Club readies itself for holiday potluck party
Shuffleboard Club members can always be counted on to eagerly sign up to help with any and all club sponsored activities. For the holiday potluck party scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, the organizing committee consists of a set up crew of Micki Aiello, Vivian Cebellos, Harold Morehead, Patty Peterson and Carol Schubeck. Volunteers for clean-up include Sandy Bush, Judy Hulin and Helene Neun, and able hosts will be Doris Morton and Ellie West. Members are reminded the sign-up sheets to both come and to bring food are at the courts building. Entertainment will include the dice game Left, Right, Center so people should bring quarters.
Two substitutes played on Nov. 22, filling in for league members who couldn’t play that day. Judy Hulin, a Tuesday night league member, substituted to give herself more time to practice in a competitive environment. Helen Becker was the second substitute. She is not a member of the club but likes the game and is thinking about joining at some future date. Sometimes substitutes include past club members who can no longer commit to playing regularly in a league or brand new people to the game who have not yet joined but intend to. Regardless, substitutes are essential as games can be forfeited if there are not enough people on each team.
Friday morning league results for Nov. 22: Team Shel and Team Sally each scored six for a tie. All-game winners for Team Shel were Rod Osgood and Harold Morehead. The all-game winner for Team Sally was Marilyn Blackmun. Team Carol handily won over Team Patti 8-4. Team Carol’s all-game winners were Steve Edrich, Donna Perkins and Linda Peters. Team Patti had no all-game winners.
