The LW America First Republican Club meeting was a victory celebration with an overflow crowd. The meeting started with a prayer of thanksgiving immediately followed by a pitch-in dinner with all the trimmings. After dinner, the meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance and heartfelt thanks for all the volunteers who staffed the club’s information tent, get-outthe vote canvassers and callers, ballot harvesters, letter writers and others who spent many hours contributing to encourage voter participation.

While California election results are not final until Dec. 5, many of the club’s supported candidates have won their individual races. Clear local winners included Janet Nguyen, Orange County supervisor, and Ben Wong and Patti Senecal, Seal Beach City Council members who take their oath of office on Dec. 9. The presidential race went overwhelmingly to Donald Trump. The victory was the primary focus of the meeting with revelers wearing Trump memorabilia, garbage bags and other “deplorable” costumes and descriptive wearables. Highlights included the music to the ever-growing popular Trump dance that is sweeping college campuses and at football games.

It should be noted that the club now has 296 residents on the membership list, with 32 new members added over the last few months. The meeting’s election trivia game answers included recent facts about member activities. As an example, 2,940 candidate voter guide door hangers were distributed to residents and 520 ballots were harvested and hand delivered to the voting center in Santa Ana.

The meeting ended with a reminder that the work to instill conservative values in the community and nation will never end.
