DMV knowledge test no longer required for drivers over 70
As of Oct. 1, California drivers aged 70 and older can choose a new alternative to the knowledge test that is required to renew their driver’s license. Senior drivers can take a no-fail, self-paced e-learning course online instead of the knowledge exam at the DMV office.
They can learn how to access the e-learning course by watching a step-by-step video at https://shorturl.at/82bj5 that explains how to:
• Fill out the online renewal application on a mobile phone, tablet or computer.
• Find and complete the no-fail e-learning course.
• Schedule a visit to the DMV office to finish the renewal.
