Donated instruments making music in Seal Beach schools

Giving old instruments new life has become an unexpected hallmark project for the Seal Beach committee of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.

Over 50 instruments have been donated, repaired and are giving young students the thrill of participating in school orchestras and bands in local schools. These repaired instruments include trumpets, violins, cellos, trombones, clarinets, a bass, flutes, saxophones, guitars and a viola.

Many of these donations have come from former students who received an instrument which changed their lives. They wanted other young students to have the opportunity and privilege they did.

Those with an unused instrument may donate it to the group to receive tax receipt. Fore more information, call Virginia Fraser at 562-596-8591 or email her at CVF1955@gmail.com.

The group strives to provide exceptional music education programs in local schools. These programs engage and inspire students to develop a life-long appreciation of music and the power it has to connect and enrich lives. Those interested in joining the committee or volunteering should contact Fraser.
