Service/Gathering Times:

Sunday morning at 10:30 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2; Wednesday morning Bible study at 10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2; the Hymn Sing is held on the fourth Sunday of the month in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby at 6 p.m.

Sermon for this week:

Imagine a sleek, shiny new sports car. It looks fast, even when it is sitting still. Envision sliding into the driver’s seat and reaching out to start the engine, anticipating the rich roar as the exquisitely designed engine comes to life...and nothing happens. Everything looks good and feels good, but there is no power. If only it had a full tank of gas or was fully charged. That vehicle could go places. It could cover lots of ground. It could accomplish the purpose for which it was created.

For the believer, the power of the Holy Spirit is much like the gas or electric charge for a car’s engine. Jesus promised to give people the power to live and to accomplish the purpose for which each person has been created, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Chuck Franco will expand on this thought with a message titled “What is Truth: The Baptism of the Holy Spirit,” on Sunday, Nov. 13. Why not access every gift and tool God has provided?

Bible Study: The book of Titus was written to a young pastor who was ministering to a corrupt and misguided culture. Once again, the parallels between biblical society’s problems and current society’s problems illustrate how timely the Bible’s message is. What is a Christian to do in a culture that rejects biblical values and teaching? Residents can dive into this question with fellow students while reading Paul’s message of instruction and encouragement found in Scripture.
