Women’s Golf

Forty-three members of the Women’s Golf Club participated in the weekly tournament held on Oct. 25. They competed for low gross, low net and chip-ins. Six players successfully chipped the golf ball from the fairway directly into the hole.

The flight winners were: Flight A— Low Gross: Linda Herman, 30; Low Net: a threeway tie between Jane Song, Lisa Kim and Ann Tran, 27; Chip-in: Linda Herman, Hole 7.

Flight B— Low Gross: Janice Turner, 28; Low Net: Hae Lee, 21; Chip-ins: Jee Choi, Hole 1, Margie Thompson, Hole 2 and Eullia Kim, Hole 9.

Flight C— Low Gross: A three-way tie between Sue Yokomi, Marilyn Hewitt, and Cecilia Han, 33; Low Net: a tie between Kay Hong and Soo Kim, 26; Chip-ins: none.

Flight D— Low Gross: Liz Meripol, 36; Low Net: Patti Smith, 23; Chip-ins: Joyce Basch, Hole 2, and Ann Walshe, Hole 9.

The next general meeting of the Women’s Golf Club will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. in Clubhouse 3. All golfers are urged to attend as there will be an election of officers for the coming year.

The annual Turkey Shoot Tournament begins on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Members must participate on both Nov. 8 and Tuesday, Nov. 15, to be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Low Gross and Low Net in each flight for the total of the two days.

The tournament requires a member to have played six games of competitive play within the last six months. Winners will be announced at the December meeting.
