LWer’s granddaughter has a play in New York City

Mutual 5 resident Anna Derby went to New York City to watch her granddaughter Rebekah Raphling’s play “Dry Fall,” which she wrote, directed and starred in.

Tax volunteers fi le a record of 750 returns this year
GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION
Thanks to the help of 28 Golden Age Foundation (GAF) volunteers, 750 2024 tax returns were e-filed for free. With two new captains at the helm, the group managed to exceed the number of e-filed returns for the second year in a row.

UCI Health Los Alamitos Neurologist Dr. Nirav Patel will cover causes, symptoms and treatments for stroke at the Sunshine Club’s next meeting on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

CD Club will meet at Estrada’s Mexican Grill
At its last meeting, the CD Music for Seniors Club sorted hundreds of CDs by genre. This was a great opportunity for members to take home familiar music as well as that of artists and styles they have not experienced in the past. It was made peppier with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons belting out tunes in the background.

Community Karaoke Club
On May 7, Community Karaoke Club singers remembered Mother’s Day when Pete Tupas sang the nostalgic “Mama.” Another tear-jerker was “Remember When” nicely sung by Donald Horning. Sharon Knutson surprised the audience singing a capella. The group enjoyed several duets sung by Joan Rosenberg and David Noble as well as Anna Lam and Walter Bier.
