Dr. Armin Arshi from UCI Health in Los Alamitos will speak on orthopedic joint replacements at the Sunshine Club’s meeting on Friday, March 13, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Arshi will explain the anatomy of the knee and hip, types of damage, and surgical and non-surgical repair options. RAINBOW COMMUNITY The Rainbow Community, along with the LGBTQ+ Center Long Beach Older Adult Program, will sponsor a St. Patrick’s Day barbecue potluck on Tuesday, March 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. It will be an afternoon of food, music and fun. GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION EVENTS Over 300 federal and California state tax returns have been e-filed for Leisure World residents so far this year with the help of the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) and AARP. The GAF has added two additional days on Thursdays, March 26, and April 9 for appointments. IRS-certified volunteers will prepare and e-file tax returns for full-year California residents.

The Leisure World Cares Fund is now making $200-permonth payments to 19 Leisure World residents who are on fixed-incomes to help with their struggle keep up with their rising HOA fees. Applying for the aid is confidential and the process has been completed in as little as two week.
