The Club meets on Thursdays in Clubhouse 2 from 10 a.m.-noon. The first hour of the class is for beginners to intermediate dancers. After a brief break, the second hour of the class is for more advanced dances. Wa-Rite is afemale-only club that meets on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss journey, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork. On June 5, members learned that the club lost 9.5 pounds. Jeanette

Velvetones Ballroom Dance Orchestra


The Velvetones will perform Sunday, June 21, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. The group performs big band swing and jazz standards under the direction of Jeff Plum. This summer, the GRF Transportation Department will provide shuttle transportation to and from the GRF Weekend Dances from June-August. When a resident is ready for a ride, they can call 562472-1367. The GRF Recreation Department will host its annual Independence Day classic car and craft show on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clubhouse 4, Veterans Plaza and the surrounding parking lot.
