Donate to Seal Beach Animal Shelter on Sept. 4 and win
Volunteers from the Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC) will be at the Amphitheater Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute on Thursday, Sept. 4, to collect both cash and materials for the shelter. All those who contribute will be eligible to win a $25 gift card to Target, Home Goods, or California Pizza Kitchen.
SBACC volunteers will be at the entrances from 6-8 p.m. accepting cash donations

To avoid a dead battery or flat tire that will likely strand the golf cart at the most inopportune time, the Rollin’ Thunder Golf Cart Club recommends LWers check that the battery water is to the correct level and all four tires are checked and brought up to the correct pressure regularly.

Flu shot clinic will be held Friday, Sept. 5, at Optum
OPTUM HEALTH CARE CENTER
Optum will hold a flu shot clinic at the Health Care Center on Friday, Sept. 5, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Anyone whose primary care doctor works at an Optum clinic can get their flu shot with no copay. Original Medicare patients who aren’t Medicare Advantage patients can also get their flu shots with no copay.
Medicare Advantage patients must have an insurance card
Help LW Cares Fund support those on fixed incomes
The Leisure World Cares Fund seeks to implement a housing cost subsidy program in Leisure World similar to the one in Senate Bill 37 that was vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom late last year.
SB37 is the Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities Housing Stability Act. It cleared the California Legislature late last year. The bill claimed older adults are at the epicenter of California’s housing affordability
