Astronomy Club president departing, position open


by Emma DiMaggio emmad@lwsb.com All humankind lives on a pale blue dot floating in the near vacuum of space: Earth. If you zoomed into that dot, past the satellites and layers of atmospheric gases, then deeper still toward the first sight of land, you could steer toward the southern coast of California and land at Leisure World, a community with an Astronomy Club looking for a new president.

Theater club will perform comedy based on high school experiences


The Leisure World Theater Club’s newest show “The 50th Class Reunion of Duck Pond High School” will be presented on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. This rollicking comedy will bring back memories of some of the teenagers who made high school so memorable. Doors open at 6 p.m. This is a BYOB event. The event is free and donations are welcome.
