The 2024 Amphitheater music festival will run until Sept. 12. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Non-resident guests must be accompanied by a resident. No parking is allowed in front of the Amphitheater on St. Andrews Drive along the southbound lanes. This is a tow-away zone on Thursdays during Amphitheater season. The Leisure Time Dancers hold classes on Mondays in the dance studio, upstairs in Clubhouse 6. Beginners are welcome. West Coast Swing will be the new dance at 2 p.m., followed by a continuation of night club two-step at 3. No partner is necessary. The class will rotate so everyone dances. A review of the basics is included. The cost is $8 per person for one class; $12 per person for two classes

People interested in learning more about space, celestial bodies and how the universe works are invited to join free lectures taught by LW resident and retired physics/astronomy teacher Jim Johns on Fridays at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Johns gives PowerPoint presentations on astronomy and cosmology. New topics are introduced weekly and there is a question and answer session after each presentation.
