The LW Men’s Golf League contested the par-71 6,000yard Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana on Sept. 6. Due to the extremely hot weather only five members played a friendly skins game. Sam Choi won eight skins; Chris Lankford, six; Dave LaCascia, 4. Closest to the pin on the fourth hole was a tie between LaCascia and Gary Stivers, who also was closest on the 12th hole. A scramble/shotgun team tournament, sponsored by the LW Men’s Golf Club, Keith Koss of Total Carpet Care, and Roger Dunn Golf, with be held Oct. 2. With a full complement of 54 players there will be six individuals (men and women) on each team. Teams are chosen by using individual handicaps as of the September calculations. Players will not know who their teammates are until the day before the tournament.

The GRF Recreation Department would like to thank concert goers for their participation and enthusiasm this summer. As plans get underway for the 2025 season, input is needed. People who have not already completed the survey are encouraged to take a look and share their feedback with Recreation. The Friends of the Library Bookstore is currently selling a large variety of supplies for needle working, knitting, crocheting, paper crafting, beading and sewing. Also available are books and magazines with ideas and samples to give crafters ideas about new things to create or guidance for someone wanting a new and rewarding hobby.

The Leisure Time Dancers hold classes on Mondays in the dance studio, upstairs in Clubhouse 6. Beginners are welcome. West Coast Swing will be the new dance at 2 p.m., followed by a continuation of night club two-step at 3. No partner is necessary. The class will rotate so everyone dances. A review of the basics is included. The cost is $8 per person for one class; $12 per person for two classes
