The Long Beach Community Band will conduct a performance titled “Let’s Dance” on May 4 from 5-7 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. Conductor Greg Flores and the 70-member band will perform musical numbers from around the world. The band has played numerous times in Leisure World, including a successful holiday show in 2024.

The CD Music for Seniors Club will meet May 1 at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5. People can add to their collections from many boxes of free CDs. People who do not have a CD player can easily sign up for a free one. The CD Club is open to any Leisure World resident and has no dues. The meetings are fun and filled with music.

The Leisure Time Dancers hold classes on Monday afternoons in the dance studio, upstairs in Clubhouse 6. Cha cha will be taught at 2 p.m., followed by a continuation of West Coast Swing at 3. Beginners are welcome. No partner is necessary. The class will rotate so everyone dances. A review of basics is included. The Coin Club will meet Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Club meetings are educational events as well as a social club where members can connect with each other and make new friends. Everyone is welcome. On May 14, the meeting topic will be more on cherry-picking, recognizing errors on coins. Light refreshments are provided.

The GRF Recreation Department will host a special brunch to honor Leisure World mothers on Saturday, May 10, in Clubhouse 4 at 11 a.m. This popular event is expected to sell out early this year and seating is limited, so now is the time drop hints to family members who would like to treat mom.
