Traveling Tigers: Astro-Landscapes
The Traveling Tigers will meet Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. The meeting will start with a potluck at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. presentation by Wally Pacholka.
As a young teenager living in rural Quebec, Canada in 1963, Pacholka became aware of the beauty of the night sky while on his daily newspaper route during the long winter nights. Not wanting to keep his God-instilled love of the night sky to himself, he bought a used camera from a pawn shop to showcase to his family and friends what beauty there was to see daily in the heavens above. Now, his American National Park nighttime scenic images have become his trademark. His celestial photography earned him TIME and LIFE Magazine’s “Picture of the Year” honors in their Year End Annual editions an amazing four times. Over the years his scenic astro-landscape images have been featured in many international publications including National Geographic, Newsweek and Encyclopedia Britannia.
The Traveling Tigers is excited to present this photographer’s eye-opening images.
