On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Michaela Yoro, a Southern California-based artist specializing in contemporary realism oil painting, will give an oil painting demonstration to LW Art League members and their guests. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4.

Yoro received her BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Fullerton and studied abroad at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in Florence, Italy. A returning exhibiting artist at the Festival of Arts Laguna Beach, Yoro is an active member of the Tustin Art League, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and a Signature Artist member of the California Art Club. Her exploration of beauty in the everyday is a quiet celebration of the ordinary through oil paint. She seeks to capture the intimate moments that often go unnoticed with a sense of nostalgia and comfort.

Members who want to show their own work should arrive at 5:30 p.m. and present their art pieces to league representatives for display. Two-dimensional artwork should be framed and ready to be hung or displayed on an easel. Three-dimensional artwork will be displayed on a covered table with pedestals. People will select the “Most Popular” piece on display, and the artist will receive a ribbon of recognition during the meeting.
