Join the blessing of the animals celebration on Oct. 4

Community Church will hold a Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, Oct. 4, inside the church at 14000 Church Place at 9:30 a.m. Pet owners are responsible for the care and behavior of the animals they bring. People may also bring photos of pets if they prefer.
Community Church will continue week four of its series, the Season of Creation, on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 9:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place. The message will look at the creation of night and day in Genesis as well as the teachings of Jesus on moving from evening to day.
No matter a person’s story, and indeed sometimes because of their story, all people are welcome at Community Church. Women who believe they have the same rights, privileges and responsibilities of the men around them are affirmed and welcomed at Community Church.
Those who are in LGBTQIA+ community are welcome here—not in a bait and switch so the church can “pray the gay away.” They are whom God has created them to be.
Community Church believes in the divine truth: the more diverse a church is, the better it reflects the “kin-dom” of God. Community Church uses that word “kin-dom” intentionally; the congregation is here to follow the teachings of Jesus. It doesn’t matter if a person is undocumented, an immigrant or native to the land, everyone is welcome. Believers are followers of Jesus first and citizens of whatever country second.
People who do not fit in the groups above are also welcome. However, what is not welcome is racism, sexism, bigotry or hate. Those been hurt by the church in the past or have given up on church because it seems too judgmental are welcome to visit the church.
Community Church is grounded in science and ratio-nal thought as much as it is the Scriptures. The congregation believes the call of Jesus wasn’t to repent and believe, but rather to go beyond and act.
