Save the date for Korean Night on Aug. 15
KOREAN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
The vibrant rhythms and rich cultural heritage of Korea will light up the Leisure World Amphitheater on Saturday, Aug. 15, starting at 7:30 p.m. for the seventh annual Korean Night. The event is organized by the Korean American Association.
This milestone celebration will feature a diverse lineup of 10 distinct performance groups, showcasing the immense talent within the Korean community.
One of the groups that will be featured is the Gloria Autoharp Club, led by Monica Yoo. The group meets on Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 6.
The Gloria Autoharp Club offers a warm, welcoming environment where members practice a diverse repertoire, ranging from sacred hymns and popular melodies to classical compositions.
Beyond its weekly sessions, the group regularly performs at local nursing homes, sharing warmth, encouragement and the joy of music with residents.
During the program, the Gloria Autoharp Club will play “Destined Encounter” by Noh Sa-yeon and “I Have a Dream” by ABBA.

• Grace Korean Traditional Dance Group The Grace Korean Traditional Dance Group will also take the stage on Aug. 15. Established in 2014, the group meets on Saturdays from 6-9 p.m. on the second floor of Clubhouse 6.
Dedicated to preserving and sharing the elegance of Korean heritage, Grace Korean Traditional Dance explores both traditional Korean folk dance and mission dance. The group’s art form emphasizes deep breath-
LW Gloria Autoharp Club ing, graceful movements and subtle emotional expression. With years of experience, the group guides beginners and experienced dancers alike toward physical well-being and refined artistic expression.
The group will showcase two dances, “Sogo Chum” (Small Drum Dance) and “Gayageum Sanjo.”
••• Flowering Step Line Dance Bringing high energy and fun to the community since 2014, the Flowering Step Line Dance, led by Young Ah Ko and club President Susie Yoon, meets every Monday morning in Clubhouse 2 and in Clubhouse 3 on the third Monday.
To support newcomers and help dancers refine their steps, a special 20-minute beginner session is offered before each main class starting at 10 a.m.
The regular sessions blend lively rhythms, spending 30 minutes on western pop songs followed by 30 minutes of Korean hits.
During the group’s performance, the Flowering Step Line Dance will dance to “Rock-NRoll- Is-King” and “Dynamite” by BTS.
