LW Baptist Church

LW Baptist Church meets for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

The sermon for Sunday, Aug. 9, is about how the Bible reminds people to see others as God’s image-bearers, created in his likeness. Sin has marred that image, but through faith in Christ, the likeness is renewed. Moses called Israel to recognize the brotherhood of mankind by creation, and the New Testament scriptures say, “As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Jesus exemplified this, and his enemies called him “a friend of sinners.” He did not deny the title, but explained, “I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance,” and “The Son of Man is come to seek and to save the lost.”

During the service, the church will sing the line “May the mind of Christ my Savior live in me from day to day.”
