Meetings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Atherton Ward are held at 6500 E. Atherton St., Long Beach.

There will be a new format for the Sunday meetings beginning Sept. 6. Sacrament service will continue to be held every Sunday from 9-10 a.m., followed by a 5-minute passing time to Sunday school classes, beginning at 10:05. Everyone 12 and older will go to Sunday school until 10:30.

There will then be another 5-minute passing period to attend either Relief Society, Elders Quorum, or the young women’s and young men’s group. The lesson in each of those classes will be from 10:35-11 a.m. every Sunday.

Primary Classes for children will not change; they will be held every Sunday 10-11 a.m.

The course of study this year is the Old Testament. Personal study of the Old Testament for the week of Aug. 10-16 should be centered on Job 1-3, 12-14, 19, 21-24, 38-40 and 42.
