Art in Bloom Fine Art Exhibition is June 20

LW ART LEAGUE

All Leisure World residents, friends and neighbors are invited to attend the LW Art League’s major event of the year—the Art in Bloom fine art exhibition—on Saturday, June 20, from 4-7 p.m. in Clubhouse 3. Wine will be provided courtesy of Gasper Monteer Realty Group.

Winners of this year’s exhibition were recently selected by the exhibition’s jury in lead up to the art show. The exhibition features art created exclusively by Leisure World residents in a broad spectrum of mediums, including painting, ceramics, fiber, photography, mixedmedia, sculpture, glass and drawing. Three “Best of Show” pieces received special recognition.

The 20 honored creations and their creators are:

• Painting: “Spring” by Rosie Grogan, first place; “Sunflower” by Vicky Mayhew, second; “Afternoon Delight” by Mary Guymon, third.

• Ceramics: “Rock-Ta-Pus” by Brenda Hemry, first place; “Azure

• Photography: “Plumeria Twist” by Lu DeSantis, first place; “Waiting for Mom” by Allison Baker, second; “Alien in Paradise” by Lu DeSantis, third.

• Mixed-Media: “Wreath” by Marti Stroman, first place; “Last Summer” by Diane Taylor, second.

• Sculpture: “My Box” by Ramayana Baba, first place.

• Glass: “Voluntary Perspective” by Daniel Prosek, first place.

• Drawing: “Pear” by Yevette Louis, first place.

• Best In Show: “Ridiculous Ranunculus” by Terese Smith, first place; “Egret” by Alison Baker, second; “Earth Urn” by Ramayana Baba, third.
