Valentine’s Day Dance tickets go on sale Jan. 16

On Saturday, Feb. 14, the GRF Recreation Department will host its annual Valentine Dinner Dance in Clubhouse 2 at 6 p.m. People should expect a very different vibe: this year’s dance will channel the era of Twiggy and The Twist, the Beatles and Woodstock, bell bottoms, tye dye and beehive hairdos, miniskirts and everything mod.

Gasper Monteer Realty Group will sponsor the catered 1960s-themed bash, featuring comfort fare by Country Garden Caterers and entertainment by Beach Street A GoGo! who will rock the house. Guests are invited to dress for the era.

Carol Gasper and Nick Monteer will provide goody bags for participants and host a drawing for two gift baskets, each including a $100 gift card.

They will also help give away the centerpieces to one lucky person at each table. Be sure to visit them at the greeting table.

Beach St. A GoGo! pays tribute to the groovy sounds of the ‘60s. The sixpiece band has carefully chosen songs that are fun to listen, dance and sing along to, shying away from the psychedelic songs of that time.

Almost every song is a No. 1 Hit or Top 10 from Billboard magazine’s 1960s top 100—hits from The Beatles, Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, those beloved fab ‘60s girl groups, one hit wonders, Motown and more. Tickets go on sale Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. in the Recreation Office in Building C. The price is $45 per person or $320 for a table of eight; cash or check. This event always sells out early so be sure to get tickets early.
