It was a busy 2025 for club that seeks to build bridges in LW

“Building Bridges for a Brighter Leisure World” was the theme for the Sunshine Club’s year.
More than 14 years ago, the Sunshine Club was founded to help foster understanding in the community as many ethnic groups call Leisure World home.
During 2025, the Sunshine Club hosted 47 guest speakers, including community leaders and administrative supervisors.
Specifically, the speakers gave programs covering Medicare basics, FALCK mobile care, vascular dementia, pain and stem cells, mobility aids, dental care, stroke treatment, emotional health, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, heart and brain health, kidney health, back and neck pain, arthritis and bone care, memory care, chiropractic medicine, Life Line alerts, Council On Aging, computer care and scams, annuities and financial education, GRF Transportation, Administration and Physical Property departments, On-Site Sales, the LW Cares Fund, the LW Orchestra, the Seal Beach City Council, the Battleship Iowa, mosquito control, safe driving, reuse of plastic, lithium batteries, de-cluttering and auto repair.
The first speaker of 2026 will be GRF Security Director Victor Rocha. The meeting will be held in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, from 10 a.m.-noon.
The first hour is dedicated to the speaker’s presentation, including a question-and-answer period.
On Jan. 23, new GRF Executive Director David Norvell will speak in Clubhouse 4 at 10 a.m.
Everyone is welcome. People are asked to arrive before the door closes.
Membership is not required, and donations are welcome.
