LW Baptist Church

Sunday is advent, and LW Baptist Church celebrates the two advents that form the gospel of Jesus Christ, the son of God. His first advent was his humble birth in Bethlehem, and his second advent will come when he returns in glory as the king of kings and Lord of lords.

This Sunday, Nov. 30, the Bible reading focuses on the apostle John’s prologue to the gospel. He traces Jesus’ lineage back in time before he came from heaven to earth. John writes how the creator of all things entered the world as savior, “He came unto his own and his own received him not; but to as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God even to those who believe in his name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
