Presentation will focus on perennials
GARDEN CLUB
The Garden Club will meet Monday, Nov. 17, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. Melissa Rapp will present a program on perennials.
Rapp is a retired physician who always loved plants. After retiring, she became a Master Gardener in 2022 to pursue her love of plants and share science based information with the public on home horticulture.
Perennials are some of her favorite plants because they don’t have to be replaced every year and are also versatile and wildly varied. They can add color, privacy and focal points to a garden. They also make wonderful pollinator gardens. Perennials are the backbone of a garden and serve many functions. Rapp will talk about choosing the right perennials for a garden, taking into consideration the gardener’s needs and the local microclimate. She will cover the care required by perennials and how to plan a garden that will provide yearround color. The We Care table will be set up in the lobby for donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards and cash. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served after the meeting. All are welcome to attend.
