Wa-Rite
Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. Women who want support on their weight-loss journey and to meet like-minded people are welcome to stop by no later than 8:45 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.
On Aug. 29, the recordkeeper Darleen Gardner shared that the club lost a total of 15 pounds in one week. The biggest loser was Joyce Brannon with a 4-pound loss. She credits her weight loss to eating out less often and by snacking on frozen grapes and cashews. Brannon has been trying to achieve a certain weight for years. Everyone was very proud and pleased for her.
It was a sharing day for the club, so there was no speaker. The weekly food for thought was: “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. Try to figure out how to get through them to meet your goal.”
