AUTHORSPEAK
The Leisure World Library will hold its next AuthorSpeak event at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, inside Clubhouse 4.
Nicholas Meyer, Academy Award nominated screenwriter, director and author of nearly a dozen books, will visit the library to speak about his latest novel, “Sherlock Holmes and the Telegram from Hell.” Set during World War I, the book plunges Holmes and Watson into a world where entangling alliances, treaties and human frailty threaten to create another cataclysm.
In addition to his work as an author, Meyer directed and wrote films such as “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” (1982), “The Day After” (1983) and “Time After Time” (1979), among many others.
The presentation begins promptly at 11 a.m. Arrive as early as 10:30 a.m. to enjoy refreshments provided by the library and to find preferred seating. Books will be available for purchase.
