Service Maintenance replaces decades-old utility carts

Ten new Service Maintenance utility carts have arrived at the Maintenance Yard, marking the beginning of a major upgrade for the department. These new vehicles will replace the aging Cushman fleet. Some of the old carts have been in operation for as long as 42 years, and their age has begun to take a toll. With rising repair costs and extended downtime, the outdated vehicles were increasingly unable to meet the demands of the department, leading to slower response times for Service Request Orders (SROs).
The new carts, specially customized to meet the unique needs of the Golden Rain Foundation, are designed to boost efficiency and improve service delivery. Their compact size allows staff to easily navigate sidewalks and quickly reach job sites. Despite their small footprint, the new utility carts are built for heavy-duty work, with a 2,000-pound weight capacity that allows them to carry essential tools, including utility boxes and ladder racks.
With the addition of these new vehicles, Service Maintenance staff expect faster response times and improved operational efficiency.
