The Shuffleboard Court’s Building (behind Clubhouse 1 on Burning Tree Lane) will be open this Friday evening, Feb. 10, at 5:30, for a Valentine’s celebration. All members and residents interested in joining the Shuffleboard Club are invited to attend. The potluck party will begin with a short club meeting, a potluck supper, and two games of “On the Line,” where winning teams will be rewarded. The entrance fee for the party is some delightful food dish, while the cost to play “On the Line” will be $1.

Sign-up sheets for the spring league will be available in the Courts Building beginning the evening of Feb. 10. Everyone who want to play in either one or both spring leagues (Tuesday evenings/Friday mornings) should sign up as early as possible. The deadline is March 3. The first spring league game will begin March 10.

Free open-play/pick-up games take place Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. Most days, eight to 12 players participate. For those wanting to practice in the evenings, the courts are open Tuesday evenings from 6-8. All equipment is provided; closedtoe shoes are required. TheTuesdayEveningLeague played Jan. 31, pairing the Night Sliders—captained by Sally Fowler—and the Hot Shots— captained by Jack O’Brien. The Night Sliders won eight of 12 games. The Night Sliders’ allgame winners included: Sally Fowler who has had an average of 100% through the first four games, plus Roger Bennett, Carol Johnson, Chandra Patel and Patty Peterson.

The Tuesday league played its fifth game on Feb. 7 and their results will be included in next week’s article.

The Friday morning league played on Feb. 3, with the Smashers winning over the Hot Rods 8-4, with Milly Larsen and Shel Magnuson earning all-game winner honors for the Smashers, both for two weeks in a row. Roger Bennett earned all-game winner status for the Hot Rods. The Flying Discs triumphed over the Bumpers 8-4, with Mo Habel and Chandra Patel as all-game winners for the Flying Discs. Chandra, too, has been an allgame winner for two weeks in a row.
