Janice Turner shoots a hole-in-one on fi fth hole
GUYS AND GALS TOURNAMENT
An overcast morning greeted the players in the Guys and Gals Tournament on April 16. Thirty-five teams of one man and one woman with varying golfing abilities teed off starting at 7:30 a.m. at the par-54 Turtle Lake Golf Course.

LW WOMEN'S GOLF CLUB
The LW Women’s Golf Club held a special two-week spring tournament on April 1 and 8. The final results were: A flight winners: Linda Herman, 52, low gross; Clara Suh, 50, low net.
B flight winners: Pam Krug, 57, low gross; Mary Ann Moore, 50, low net.
C flight winners: Keiko Sekino, 62, low gross; Sue Yokomi, 49, low net.

William P. Phillips
1939-2025
William P. Phillips, “Bill” or “Phill,” devoted husband, father, loyal friend, skilled gardener and neighborhood advocate, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, at 2:05 p.m. at Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley, California. Suffering from a smorgasbord of ailments, a full cardiac arrest is what finally got him in the end.
William served his country by joining the Navy as petty officer then transitioning as an engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company.
William is survived by his wife, Hatsue, and his middle daughter, Janet.
A celebration of life will be held in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, in Leisure World on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m., RSVP at 714-722-4149 by April 27. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome and stories and rumors are encouraged to share.

Trab c expected as city begins paving on Seal Beach Boulevard
STREET REPAIRS
Starting Monday, April 21, crews will begin paving Seal Beach Boulevard from Westminster Avenue to North Gate Road.
The paving work will be generally conducted from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. on weeknights. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers should expect rough surfaces and uneven pavement throughout the project.
Work will continue until Friday, May 9, barring
