Chess Club
The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills. South Coast Orchid Society
The South Coast Orchid Society will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Monday, June 23, from 7-9 p.m. at the Whaley Park Community Center, 5620 E. Atherton St. in Long Beach.

Amphitheater season kicks off June 26 with barbecue and a tribute to Bublé
AMPHITHEATER 2025
The 2025 Amphitheater music festival will start Thursday, June 26, with an 11-show lineup, promising an eclectic mix of country, rock, pop, soul and blues tribute performers at the 2,500-seat Amphitheater.

LBCC Band of Battalion returns to CH 4 on June 9
HISTORICAL REENACTMENT
The Long Beach City College Evening Wind Symphony and Band of the California Battalion, a fully reenacted Civil War Union Brass Band, will be featured in a special spring concert on Monday, June 9, at 7 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. Potter is named interim in charge

The Golden Rain Foundation Board officially named Dave Potter, CCAM, CMCA, AMS, as Leisure World’s interim executive director, effective June 2.
He replaces Jessica Sedgwick, who departed May 30 to assume the top management position at an active adult community in the Sacramento area.
Potter joined the Golden Rain Foundation as Executive Manager of Mutual Services
