“Hate crimes” are defined as crimes that are hostile, targeting a person merely as a result of his or her disability, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation or transgender identity. And they are on the rise. Hate crimes in the U.S. rose to the highest level in more than a decade last year, according to an FBI report. Hate crimes have been increasing in the U.S.

The IRS has extended the filing deadline for 2020 federal tax return to May 17. Therefore, the AARP Tax Program sponsored by the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) has extended it tax preparation service to May 5. The service is offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
