Hands and Hearts United in Giving (HHUG) is a small, local nonprofit dedicated to helping the homeless in the community. HHUG accepts donations of clean used towels and new, unopened travel-size shampoo, soap, lotion and disposable razors. The only clothing accepted is new socks and new underwear for men and women. Mutual 12 will hold a luncheon on April 29 in Clubhouse 4 starting at noon. The luncheon will feature a country-western-style box lunch. Tickets may be purchased from residents’ building captains starting April 4 for $8 per resident and $16 per guest/caregiver. Residents are invited to join their neighbors for a chance to catch up while listening to themes from western movies and TV shows. Winners

The Y Service Club is selling MiraFiber cloths to raise funds to send kids to camp. The cloth plus water will clean any surface without chemicals. The cost is $6 each or five for $25. This is an ongoing fundraiser for the Y Service Club. To purchase a cloth, call Glenna Hoff at (562) 296-5040.
