As people age, they naturally lose muscle mass, so it’s important to strength train to stay strong. If there’s only time for one exercise, do a set set of squats, experts say. FREE RESOURCE This month through December, including Thanksgiving Day, Lucent Care volunteers will be available to keep LW residents company and share the joy of the holiday season. The Water Aerobics Class meets daily from 8:30-9 a.m. at the LW swimming pool. Classes are fun, free and offer fundamental water calisthenics. People can wear bathing suits, or t-shirts and short. Men and women are welcome. Water exercises are a great way for older adults to stay healthy and fit. They are low-impact, easy on the joints, and a great way to develop muscle strength.

The Friends of the Library (FOTL) Bookstore will be closed Nov. 23-24 for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. On Dec. 26, the FOTL Bookstore will close until further notice for remodeling. There are two dance classes every Saturday morning in Clubhouse 6 (second floor). Beginning in November there will be two new classes: salsa at 9 a.m. followed by American tango at 10. Class participants vote on new dance topics every month. Each class is $7 per person. Prior dance experience is not necessary and partners are not required.
