M9 resident visited Latvia

M9 resident visited Latvia


Peter Meuter of Mutual 9 recently returned from a trip to Germany and Riga, Latvia. A 90-minute flight from Berlin, Riga features a beautiful city center with a very large market. There are also 700-yearold churches and historic buildings. The beach is close via a 30 minute train ride. Meuter stated that Riga was still cold in May, with highs in the 40s.

Art League announces competition winners


The LW Art League met on June 11 in Clubhouse 4. The guest demonstration artist was former California State University, Long Beach professor of anthropology and aviation enthusiast Jon Olson, who considers himself a “narrative painter.” Olson and his wife Natalie are both residents of Leisure World and Lake Arrowhead, where some of Olson’s paintings are exhibited in the Mountain Arts Network
