Three holes-in-one elevate tournament on June 19

GUYS AND GALS GOLF TOURNAMENT The Guys and Gals Tournament was played at the Turtle Lake Golf course on June 19. Teams of various skilled golfers of one man and one woman vied for best net scores (gross score minus handicap), plus two circle holes (shots within a 5-foot radius are rewarded), and two closest to the pin challenges. Cribbage Club

The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served from noon to 12:15 p.m. People who arrive by 12:15 are assured a place to play. One dollar is collected from each player, and those who finish in the top four will be awarded prize money the following week. Seven games each week beginning at 12:30. Last week, Pat Blum provided cake and ice cream to celebrate

Miracle of Miracles, the sun was out prior to the 7a.m. tee time, which was the first time the golfers played in early morning sun in several months. The object of Yahtzee is to score points by rolling five dice to make certain combinations. The Yahtzee Club will meet Friday, July 5 in Clubhouse 3, Room 6 at 1 p.m. There will be a halftime social to visit with friends and neighbors. In Memoriam Joan “Jeannie” ….

In Memoriam Joan “Jeannie” Capper Cose Joan “Jeannie” Cose passed away peacefully in Gig Harbor, Washington, on June 23, 2024. Born in Liverpool, Jeannie cruised the Atlantic working for the Elder Dempster cruise line then found herself in California. She is in the Disney Hall of Fame after 25 years working for Mickey. She was a proud Southern Californian transplant. Her golden years, spent at Leisure World, provided such joy, filled with travel, golf, laughter and friends. Her ashes will be spread in her beloved Pacific Ocean. She will be missed.
