The Project Food Box program, sponsored by the Seal Beach Lions Club, has been canceled this month. Project Food Box is held once every fourth Friday, where residents receive a 12-pound box of fresh fruit and vegetables for $10. Box contents will vary according to what is fresh and seasonal. The program will return next month.

The Filipino Association of Leisure World and the American Legion Post 327 hosts bingo games every Sunday in Clubhouse 2. Games sales start at 1 p.m., and play starts at 1:30. Games will be over by 4.

The American Latino Club will meet on Friday, Aug. 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Clubhouse 1 picnic area. The club will barbecue hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings and a green salad will also be served. Beverages include coffee, tea or a fruit drink and Italian ice for dessert. The primary emergency plan for Leisure World residents in the event of a disaster is “you are on your own.” Some Mutuals have their own emergency plan, which residents should follow.
