The Dancers & Mixers will host a western-themed dance on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 7-9 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. People are encouraged to bring their boots and hat and come to the clubhouse to enjoy dancing to live ballroom music performed by Linda Herman. Saturday Morning Dance Class

There are two dance classes every Saturday morning in Clubhouse 6 (second floor). In August, the classes are: nightclub twostep at 9 a.m., followed by waltz at 10. Each class is $7 per person. Class participants vote on new dance topics every month. Prior dance experience is not necessary and partners are not required. For more information, contact Howard Small at 516-659-3314.

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL CLUB The Let the Good Times Roll Club will hold its Summer Fling show and dance on Saturday, Aug. 17, in Clubhouse 2 starting at 5:30 p.m. People are encouraged to dress summer casual. Be sure to wear dancing shoes because after the show The Legends of Rock Dance Band will perform rock and roll dance music until 9:15. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages

Astronomy Lectures

People interested in learning more about space, celestial bodies and how the universe works are invited to join free lectures taught by LW resident and retired physics/astronomy teacher Jim Johns on Fridays at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Johns gives PowerPoint presentations on astronomy and cosmology. New topics are introduced weekly and there is a question and answer session after each presentation.
