Zumba class generates energy and happiness


Zumba combines aerobic exercises into choreographed dance moves. It embraces the Latin culture of music, colors, rhythms, and energy that promotes happiness. Feel younger with the overall body toning dance experience called Zumba. Dancing to Latin rhythms, along with other great beats, will up peoples energy level and put a smile on their faces. The fall pool league began on Sept. 2. For those unfamiliar with the league, there are six teams on Monday and on Wednesday. There’s an A, B and C level player on each team. Each player plays singles against their level opponent in eight ball and nine ball. Thirty-nine women gathered at the Turtle Lake Golf Course on Sept. 3 for the LW Women’s Golf Club weekly Tuesday tournament. Play for the day was low gross, low net and circle hole in No. 6. The Traveling Tigers will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at noon in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. The meeting will begin with a potluck. People should bring a dish to share and their own coffee cup. Following the potluck, at 1 p.m. there will be a short business meeting followed by a presentation by Donna Gambol of her trip to China.

People interested in learning more about space, celestial bodies and how the universe works are invited to join free lectures taught by LW resident and retired physics/astronomy teacher Jim Johns on Fridays at 10 a.m. via Zoom.
