The Leisure Time Dancers hold classes on Mondays in the dance studio, upstairs in Clubhouse 6. Beginners are welcome. Salsa will be the new dance at 2 p.m., followed by a continuation of West Coast swing at 3. No partner is necessary. The class will rotate so everyone dances. A review of the basics is included. People interested in learning more about space, celestial bodies and how the universe works are invited to join free lectures taught by LW resident and retired physics/astronomy teacher Jim Johns on Fridays at 10 a.m. via Zoom. There are two dance classes every Saturday morning in Clubhouse 6 (second floor). In September, the classes are nightclub two-step at 9 a.m., followed by cha-cha at 10. Each class is $7 per person. In honor of Veterans Day, the Recreation Department is conducting a GRF bus trip to tour the Battleship Iowa on Thursday, Nov. 7. The USS Iowa served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. The ship earned eleven battle stars, thousands of sailors have called the ship home, and five U.S. presidents have visited it. Tickets are $90 per person, which includes a docent-guided tour of the
