Cribbage Club’s Barbara Wheeler earns a star


The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Each week refreshments are served from noon-12:15 and anyone arriving by 12:15 will be assured a place to play. Yearly dues are $5 and $1 is collected from each player weekly. Those finishing with the top four scores are awarded prize money the following week. A total of seven games are played each week and new players are always welcome.

GUYS AND GALS GOLF TOURNAMENT The Guys and Gals tournament was played on Sept. 18, a sunny and warm morning. Thirty-one teams of one man and one woman of varying skills contended for best net scores (gross score minus handicap), plus four circle holes (shots within a 5-foot radius rewarded), and two closest-to-the-pin challenges. The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short- and long-term memory and critical thinking skills.
