California Science Exposition Center Nov. 4 Bus Trip


The Sunshine Club will take a day trip to the California Science Exposition Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 4. Sign ups are now available at the club meeting Fridays in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Tickets are $80 per person. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. and return by 6 p.m. Fees will be collected at the sign up, no exception. The trip is all inclusive, including the popular Leonardo Da Vinci

Dr. Claire Butler will speak to the Sunshine Club about the important laboratory research being conducted at UCI MIND, on Friday, Oct. 4, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Dr. Claire Butler is a postdoc trainee at UC Irvine. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in biomedical sciences at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and earned her PhD at the University of Cambridge.

Luncheon will be held Oct. 4


RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION The California Retired Teachers’ Association (CalRTA) will host a luncheon on Friday, Oct. 4, at noon in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. The guest speaker will be Diane Henry, who will discuss the evolution of the U.S. teachers’ retirement system. Thanks to the California founder, Laura E. Settle, teachers have had a decent retirement system for the past 95 years.
