People interested in learning more about space, celestial bodies and how the universe works are invited to join free lectures taught by LW resident and retired physics/astronomy teacher Jim Johns on Fridays at 10 a.m. via Zoom. The 54th annual Arts & Crafts Festival will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, and Saturday, Nov. 2, in Clubhouse 2 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The Arts & Crafts Festival is held for the purpose of encouraging the creative talents of Leisure World residents. The Oscar-winning movie “Green Book” will be screened Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. People are encouraged to bring snacks, beverages, neighbors and friends to enjoy the complimentary show. “Green Book,” rated PG-13, was released in 2018 and is 2 hours and 10 minutes long. There are two dance classes every Saturday morning in Clubhouse 6 (second floor). In October, the classes are salsa at 9 a.m., followed by merengue at 10. Each class is $7 per person.
