Science Exposition Center Nov. 4 Bus Trip


The Sunshine Club will take a day trip to the California Science Exposition Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 4. Sign ups are now available at the club meeting Fridays in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Tickets are $80 per person. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. and return by 6 p.m. Fees will be collected at the sign up, no exception. The trip is all inclusive, including the popular Leonardo Da Vinci

The Japanese American Club will meet on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. A bento box lunch from Mitsuwa will be $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Jonathan Matthews will speak on the benefits of walking; whether it is a very slow, meditative walk or a fast walk within the athletic discipline of race-walking. CERT LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT) President Catherine O’Brien will teach the next safety class on holiday safety on Friday, Oct. 25, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Dr. Nirav Patel will speak to the Sunshine Club on Friday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m., in Clubhouse, 3 Room 2. Patel will lecture on stroke prevention including causes, symptoms and treatments. Patel is a neurologist at Los Alamitos Medical Center. He is board-certified and is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine and completed his residency, chief residency, and stroke
