Chess Club plays Fridays in CH 3


The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory skills. People are encouraged to bring a friend and enjoy the moment. Shuffleboard Club


There were witches, pumpkins, a hula girl, a disco duo, a scary spider, a gap mouthed goblin and a flapper among some 30 members and guests who gathered in Clubhouse 1 on Oct. 25 to kick off Halloween with the Shuffleboard Club. A large backdrop was festooned with tangled webs, skeletons, bats and scarecrows, thanks to the creativity of member Sally Foster. A bouquet of black roses adorned each table.

Cribbage Club

Cribbage Club


The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served each week from noon-12:15 and anyone arriving by 12:15 will be assured a place to play. Brief announcements are made and play begins at 12:30. Yearly dues are $5 and each player pays $1 to play. Those finishing in the top four scores will be awarded prize money the following week. A total of seven games are played

On Oct. 25, the LW Pool Club held its monthly tournament in Clubhouse 2. Ten ball was played, with 12 two-person teams playing seven rounds. In the seventh and final round, Paul Shellenberger and Patrick Conlon won their final game to take first place. Fifty golfers complete shotgun scramble on Oct. 27


Fifty golfers from the Leisure World men’s and women’s golf leagues played in a special shotgun scramble tournament on Oct. 27 at the par 54 Turtle Lake Golf Course. Nine teams of five players teed off at 8 a.m. with the goal to have the lowest gross score of the day. Additionally, there were contests for four circle holes and closest to the pin on hole No. 2. KARAOKE CLUB It was a spooky and fun night at the Karaoke Club’s Oct. 29 karaoke party celebrating Halloween. Witches and skeletons were abundant as everyone enjoyed festive treats. Every costume won a prize for creativity and spirit.
