LW GARDEN CLUB The LW Garden Club gave its annual $1,000 donation to the nonprofi t WE CARE at its April 21 meeting. The nonprofi t's CEO Anne Mallari (l) was in attendance, pictured with Barbara Glass, who sits on the club's board of directors. The Garden Club sets up a WE CARE table at each of its meetings, where it collects donations of nonperishable food items for people in need.

WEEKEND DANCES Vinyl Rock ….


WEEKEND DANCES Vinyl Rock will perform Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. Based on resident feedback, the band’s shows now feature a quieter volume to allow for conversations off the dance floor. Vinyl Rock performs classic rock, pop and Motown tunes from the ‘60s-‘80s. The show is sponsored by the Cabaret Club. All guests must be accompanied by the resident who invited them.

Hui O Hula dancers visit LW’s Red Hat social club


On April 29, the Red Hat “Social Butterflies” Club welcomed Hui O Hula to bring dance and aloha to their club meeting. The dancers wore the Red Hat’s colors of purple and red, and brought entertainment to the Hawaiian themed luncheon. Good cheer was in the air. The LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT), will hold a safety class on Friday, May 23, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. The topic “Prepare for a Power Outage” will be presented by LW CERT President Catherine O’Brien and Vice President Fara Q. Macartney. People will learn how to prepare now, survive during and be safe after a disaster. LW CERT’s free monthly safety classes are 45 minutes
