Amateur Radio Club


Mike Johnson became interested in radios by using Citizens Band (CB radio). He has since been an avid ham radio operator, assisting on the Queen Mary in the Radio Room for many years as well as helping the LW Amateur Radio Club run the daily Net by testing radios of the club members daily Monday-Saturday. The LW Amateur Radio Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse

CRIBBAGE CLUB The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served each week from noon-12:15 and those arriving by 12:15 are assured a place to play. A total of seven games are played. Each player pays $1 to play and those finishing in the top four scores are awarded prize money the following week. New players are welcome to join in. The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills.
