Alan Sewell aces No. 3 for hole-in-one glory


LW MEN'S GOLF CLUB On Jan. 14, an all-hands LW Men’s Golf Club meeting was called to order by President Ron Steele. Financially the club is in excellent shape, and to date 49 golfers have paid their dues for 2026. The slate of officers for the 2026 calendar year was presented and approved with Steele, Bill Zurn and Byron Schweitzer remaining on as president, vice president and treasurer.

Jan. 13 brought 32 women of the LW Women’s Golf Club to the Leisure World golf course for the weekly tournament. Play for the day was low gross, low net, and birdies. Chess Club lessons available

The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills.
