A construction crew applied gunite to the pool and spa facility Oct. 29. Gunite is a concrete blend that’s applied through a high-pressure hose. Workers sprayed the gunite at high velocity onto the steel rebar to form the pool floor and walls. The work required staging vehicles on Golden Rain Road and St. Andrews Drive, which closed the sidewalk to foot traffic for a couple of days. The

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS LW residents should turn back clocks one hour before they go to bed on Saturday, Nov 6. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, meaning there will be more light in the morning. This is also a good time for people to check their fire extinguishers and smoke alarm batteries.

GRF AMENTIES UPDATE by Kathy Thayer assistant recreation manager The GRF Board has lifted the indoor mask mandate it implemented at the Oct. 26 meeting. Effective immediately, residents do not have to wear masks (although they are strongly recommended) at GRF recreation venues, such as the Fitness Center and clubhouses, among others. As a private community, the GRF may apply safety measures

Ceremony to mark Tomb of Unknown Soldier anniversary will be tomorrow at Veterans Plaza


PLAQUE DEDICATION A ceremony to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will be held Friday, Nov. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Plaza. All residents are invited to attend. The centennial anniversary is being celebrated across the nation. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Honor Guard Society asked chapters of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)
