The Leisure World Table Tennis Club congratulates coach Steve Alex Heske for his victory at the 2025 U.S. Nationals Over Fifty-Five Nonsanction Doubles Championship held from June 28 to July 4 at the Ontario Convention Center. Heske also won the 2024 World Senior Men’s Singles Championship. Heske is one of two officially approved table tennis instructors in Leisure World. —Man C. Cho LW

Chess Club plays Fridays at 1 p.m.


The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills. Cribbage Club plays Tuesdays at noon in CH 1


The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served from noon-12:15. Those arriving by 12:15 are assured a place to play. After announcements, play begins at 12:30. Players pay $1 and the top four scorers are awarded prize money the following week. New players are always welcome. On July 22, Marilyn Chelsvig and Mary Holder provided pound cake with fresh fruit
